However, when Playboy Playmate Crystal Harris stopped in with the ring, Hugh Hefner insisted that she keep it. He even 'made' her keep a Bentley he had previously purchased her. Pretty remarkable that Hugh Hefner was so kind to Crystal Harris, who has not acted in kind.

After the dust settled a little bit with the whole calling off of the wedding, Hugh Hefner tweeted, "After all is said and done, staying single is probably the best. I think I just missed a bullet." I and a lot of other people will agree with you there Hef. It is not like Hugh Hefner has it too rough now either. Just think, the man gets paid to sit around all day and relax/be waited on by some of the hottest bikini babes and models on the planet. Sounds pretty good to me.

Playboy Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair, gave some insight into the situation and said that she actually expected something like this to happen. "I'm not surprised in the least," Sinclair, who dates Hef's son Marston, "She seemed very unhappy. It was blatantly obvious to everyone that they didn't have much in common. …Nobody really understood it. But Hef cared for her and she made him happy, so of course everyone was going to support him."

The 85-year-old Playboy founder will marry the 24-year-old blonde beauty at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles on June 18 and Hugh – who has been married twice before – insists Crystal is the only woman for him.

Hugh Hefner said: "I’m devoted to her. This is as happy a time in my life as I’ve ever had. I feel very fortunate." For Hugh, having a happy home life is especially important as he admits he had a strict upbringing and sought comfort in movies when he was a child. He told Total Film magazine: "I grew up in the 30s and 40s. ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’, I loved them. ‘King Kong’ was my favorite. I didn’t exactly come from a home full of hugs and kisses. It was a typical conservative, puritan home and I was quite a solitary child, a bit of a dreamer. Movies showed me another world and sparked a desire in me."
